Holiday Packages To Australia

Holiday Packages to Australia are available all over the internet, so I just want to give you some tips that may help you, if you plan on going to Australia one day.

When entering Australia you will need a passport that is valid for the amount of time you intend to stay, and a tourist visa issued in your homeland and have it submitted in your passport before your travel date. If you are from New Zealand this does not apply to you.

If an Australian Embassy, Consulate or High Commission is not in your country check for the nearest country that may have one.  You also have the option of applying for an Australian visa online, just be careful of the type you select. For example, if you plan to work, you will need a work permit which is limited to single's under 25 and can be used for three months for casual work.

Tourist visas normally last about three to six months and when you are applying you will have to have proof of a return ticket and enough funds for the duration of your stay.

There are no duties on personal goods, and adults are allowed 250 cigarettes and one liter of liquor in their personal effects, as long as they travel with them, themselves.

Duty and sales tax are applied to certain goods that are more than 400 Australian dollars. They are very strict on narcotics and controlled substances.

When entering Australia you will have to give up any fresh food, animal or plant products and any unprocessed foodstuff that you have.  You will be required to sign a declaration to this effect.  This procedure is done in a quarantined environment to prevent the entry of any organisms that may be dangerous to Australia's vegetation, wildlife and farming products.

You must organize how you are going to get to and from the airport, the prices for transportation are quite reasonable and they are a variety of them such as conventional buses, mini-buses and private cars including limousines.  Transfers provide door-to-door service between the airport and your final destination.  Transfers can be pre-booked online, this will facilitate things, as you would not have to wait in line.

Accommodation in Australia is not a problem as they cater for all budget sizes, from back-packer dorms to 5-star luxury hotels and resorts.  The capital, major cities, and towns have conventional and boutique hotels. Major cities usually offer self-catering apartments/vacation homes.

At the beachfront holiday destinations such as Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast, self-contained apartments/vacation homes and resorts provide the majority of the accommodation, although there are also hotel choices at these locations.

As you go more in the country-side motels and motor-inns become the norm for accommodation.
