Types of Luggage

Luggage comes in a range of styles, sizes, and shapes, with most styles having wheels. You can now purchase wheeled carry on bags, duffel bags, and full-sized garment bags. 

Other choices are travel bags, tote carry-on bags, shoulder carry-on bags, and travel totes. There are expandable cargo bags as well, which are normally smaller than is typical but can expand when you pack your belongings.

There are sets of luggage available with the same design and color, the material and frames are also usually the same. These sets generally include a small carry-on bag, travel kit and multiple sizes of upright luggage.

Leather luggage is another available option. There are varied styles such as leather suit bags, garment bags, cabin bags, and duffel bags. Weekender bags and the old-fashioned carpet bags are also obtainable.

There are bags with various designs like flowers, animals, cartoon characters for kids. Almost any design is possible.

When purchasing luggage one thing travelers usually consider is the type of material the luggage is made from. Whether it is canvas, soft leather or polyester.  Or hard materials that would protect their belongings and withstand any rough handling while they are loaded or removed from planes, trains, or buses. Most frequent travelers usually go for these types of luggage because of their durability. Ultimately, the style you choose will depend on your needs and possibly your frequency of travel.
